The Book of Ignatious is a journal kept by those bearing the title "Ignatious," starting with the original Vesuvian, Phestus Magmalene. The most recent entries are kept by the most recent Ignatious, Aidan MacFaersen. Individual books or chapters of the larger work are named after their authors.
Chapter I - The Book of Phestus Magmalene
Recanting the exodus from Magma and the settlement of Oerth, the founding of the Vesuvian religion on Oerth, the recognition of Obad-Hai as the face of their god on Oerth. Also chronicles Phestus's courtship of Merri Magmalene, and the birth of their children, including Gerdan MacPhestus.
Written in Terran, translated into Dwarven by Gerdan, and into Common by Faersen.
Chapter II - The Book of Gerdan MacPhestus
Recanting the decision of the Vesuvian elders to send families to hotspots of geothermal activities, including earthquake faultlines and volcanoes. Smaller units were sent to dormant volcanoes that might threaten humanoid lives, and charged with keeping them dormant. Gerdan was assigned to Cauldron, about 5 years after its founding by Sundabar Spellmason. He took his wife, Sieglinde Glamrock (Of Non-Vesuvian ancestry) and their children to Cauldron, where they carved the Ignatious shrine to Obad-Hai in one of the shallow caverns. The elder children of Gerdan and Siglinde then struck out into the world to make names for themselves, and visit the other Vesuvian shrines, leaving only the youngest son, the infant Faersen, to stay with his parents and train as a cleric, and one day take over the shrine.

Chapter III - The Book of Faersen MacGerdan
The comparatively dull exploits of Faersen chronicle the upkeep of the Vesuvian Shrine, Faersen's somewhat successful attempts to gain acceptance from the Dwarven community and Tolerance from the rest of the locals of Cauldron. Faersen's complete failure at convincing the Cauldon natives that they were in danger of volcanic eruption, and especially that civil unrest or overabundance of evil could cause an eruption. Faersen's apparent failure at convincing the Cauldron officials that a just-in-case evacuation plan should be developed. It also contains Faersen's own ideas for a city-wide evacuation plan, and a quick plan to get his entire family to Redgorge at the slightest hint of volcanic rumblings. In addition, Vesuvian philosophy and morality is discussed, as well as a treatise on many other religions (with a moral focus on tolerance of all non-evil religions).
Throughout there are small entries on his love affair with a Dwarven Druidess named Mozilla Firefox from the surrounding Jungles, their eventual marriage, and the birth of their only son, Aidan.
